Havingt seen off the threatened industrialisation of the hill (for now at least) CLPG will support the development of a Community Woodland on Clatto Hill, with the aims of maintaining and improving the use of the area for recreation and wildlife.

Planting and management of community woodland on Clatto hill could developed to grow biofuels and and encourage biodiversity.

Clatto Land Protection Group - CPLG

When a proposal was made by Scottish Power to build a Wind Power Station* on Clatto Hill in Fife, CLPG was formed by a group of concerned local residents.

17 turbines, each 93 meters high, that is the same height as the Statue of Liberty, would dominate our intricate rural landscape.

This website is here to help inform the debate about this proposal, and CLPG hopes, to persuade you that this is not appropriate
*The term windfarm is commonly used. This is a rural area, we know what a farm is, and this is not one. It is an industrial plant.

Every one will count towards stopping this

This image gives an idea of the scale of the proposed turbines and how they will dominate the nearby village of Burnturk
Only a few of the visible turbines have been shown here, and one of the closest has been replaced with the Statue of Liberty, to scale.
